When I moved up to Liberty NY in 2008, I found a lot of bluegrass and country, and of course classic rock, but very little freejazz and even less African-inspired music. Eventually, I decided to bring up some of my old friends to make a grand gesture for a very oppressed small town in the Catskill region of New York State.
The Bliss Ensemble, even with a guest performance by Juma Sultan (played percussion with Jimi Hendrix @ Woodstock), always performed an improvised piece called The Liberty Trifecta of Peace, Love & Joy. It was my prayer for the town of Liberty NY, which exists under extreme globalist duress. There are a lot of fabulous people who live and work there, but the power structure of the region is such that nothing good will ever survive, because the land has been promised to the Hasidic cult.
The greater meaning of the title regards to the very concept of Liberty. It is a prayer that justice is served, and the true exalted force of Liberty guides us into the future.
The Bliss Ensemble premiered The Liberty Trifecta of Peace, Love and Joy in Liberty in 2016, at the Downtown Barn. The Bliss Ensemble is a collaboration of world-class musicians including:
