I’ve known for a long, long time that I needed to cut back on the sugar I put in my coffee every morning. I’m not big on cakes and such, but there is NOTHING quite as satisfying as that first cup of rich, organic, free trade coffee in the morning, perfectly brewed, perfectly sweetened, with steamed milk fresh from the local farm. I’ve tried other forms of sweetener, but I’ve never found anything affordable that does the trick.
I will learn to enjoy coffee without sugar…. or, I will have to give up coffee!
Likewise, I have been baking my own bread for years, and I enjoy it SO much! And, I’ve recently innovated the process in a way that assures me perfect bread every time. Alas, I’m forced to eliminate that tradition as well.
On my journey for perpetual wellness, I’ve been following Dr. Berg on YouTube and he is a FANTASTIC health educator who specializes in intermittent fasting. Of all the videos I’ve seen, this one is the one that really drove it home how incredibly important it is to cut out as much sugar as possible:
So, as of yesterday afternoon, I have put the sugar away for holidays only, and the yeast and flour, and cornmeal. I am starting to eat out of my garden and although I’ve already drastically cut down on the amount of food I eat, I will be working my way toward the OMAD (One Meal A Day) way of life.
On the one hand, given the impending food shortage, it’s advantageous to have fat reserves! But it will take me quite a while to lose my generous energy reserves, so I’m not too worried about it.
Other changes I’ve adopted: using essential oils of lemon and frankincense as tea, drinking a cup of water with apple cider vinegar in the evening, starting my day with a tall glass of warm water, eating mugwort (the foundation of Ivermectin), drinking mint-infused water on occasion, and foraging dandelion greens and plantain leaves which are abundant superfoods.
Less food, better food, raw food… this seems to be the way of the future. Until, perhaps, we all become breatharians!
I’m ready to be a healthy, vibrant older person!
